The City has a strong existing business climate anchored by Intel Corporation and complemented by the administrative and manufacturing operations of Hewlett Packard, Bank of America, U.S. Cotton, Letrosonics, Victoria's Secret, Sprint PCS, Insight Lighting, Stainless Motors, and ClingZ, Inc. In 2009 Hewlett-Packard opened its doors to more than 600 employees with the intent of employing over 1,300 employees. On April 7th, 2010 the RREDC introduced a new startup company, Green 2V that will bring 1,500 full time jobs to Rio Rancho by 2014. Rio Rancho has grown an impressive cluster of software, semiconductor, and machining companies. TransportationRio Rancho is just five minutes from Interstate 25 and 15 minutes from Interstate 40. In addition to the Albuquerque International Sunport, Rio Rancho is served by Double Eagle II airport which is just south of city limits. The major thoroughfares of NM 550 and NM 528 allow four lane access in and out of town. Rail service is available in the town of Bernalillo, just minutes north of Rio Rancho.
